Would you show me the principle "Liquid Electrode Plasma" ?

Emission principle is shown. High voltage power generate plasma emission at center narrow channel just after evaporation.
More than 7000 degrees C, in short time( less than 1msec ) and in narrow space( less than 1mm ) is generated iteratively. ICP-AES is most famous plasma emission spectrometry, Liquid Electrode Plasma is categorized in it.

Is it ture that Argon gas, air duct and specified power source are not needed?

No Argon, No air duct are needed. It's easy to install.

What are measument objects and features to use?

Measurement items are element types and concentrations in liquid sample. Recommended concentration ranges for each element are shown.
Micro Emission instruments are very small. MH-5000 is ultra compact especially. You can bring it in airplane or in subway.

Which is recommended MH-6000A or MH-5000?

First recommendation is MH-6000A. It has follwoing features.
- Flow analysis with pump
- Two spectrometer combination
- Alkaline solution analysis with sapphire cell

MH-5000 has follwoing features.
- Good portability, only 1.4kg
- Small amount of solution, less than 0.1mL

Welcome to Micro Emission if you can visit Japan. Our lab is located near Komatsu Airport(KMQ).

I am an early user of MH-5000. What are updated?

- Quartz cuvette LepiCuve-C has better sensitivity and reproducibility than resin cuvette LepiCuve-02.
- There are three embedded spectrometer's options, not only s2086 but also s2043 and s2035.
- Measurement range list has recommended solution information.
- We have high wavelength resolution spectra data.

What samples are out of them?

- Solid sample is not measured directly. Dissolution is necessary with acid, high temperature or shaking.
- Suspended solids is cause of choke. Please eliminate them with filtering or acid digestion.
- Organic solvent is not measured because of lack of electrical conductivity normally. Only organic solvent mixable acid, for example methanol and ethanol are measured. Many carbon origin emission lines cause optical interference.
- Significantly higher viscosity soliution than water and bubble remaining solution are recommended dilution becase these are difficult to keep reproducibility.

How volume and how long are needed?

Approximative estimation to get one emission spectrum
MH-6000A : 1 minute, 5mL
MH-5000 : 1 minute, 0.1mL

Approximative estimation to get reproducibility data for one sample
MH-6000A : 5 minutes, 15mL
MH-5000 : 2 minutes, 0.1mL
You can estimate time and sample volume with sample number and calibration curve point number.

Can I use them with battery?

MH-6000A does not work with battery.
MH-5000 work with 6 AA batteies. Alkaline cells can drive more than 100 times, typically. Number limitation depends on electrical power parameters. Nickel hydride rechargeable battery can not drive it bacause they do not have enough voltage.
Please take off batteries when you have power supply with AC adapter. Battery has priority.

Would you show me the list of apparatuses, utilities and reagents?

Under construction. You can examine predeterminate examination with only prepared solution.

Followings are recommendations to test.
- Ultrapure water system( 1L/day )
- Elemental standard for AAS or ICP
- Pure acid( HCl and/or HNO3 ) for AAS or ICP
- Reagent shelf
- Glass or resin tools for sample preparation
- Micropipette and tip( 10-100uL, 100-1000uL )
- Micro tubes(1.5mL, 2mL), tubes( 25mL, 50mL ) and bottles(100mL, 250mL, 500mL)

Acid digestion utility and/or solid phase extraction kit are sometimes needed.

Would you recommend me pumps to use MH-6000A?

Requirements
- Slow (1mL/min, typically) and low ripple
- Chemical resistance, especially acid resistance
- Easy to rinse

Recommended pumps
- Syringe pump
  Good: Not expensive
  No good: A little cumbersome to exchange sample and rinse liquid
- Tubing pump ( = Peristaric pump )
  Good: Easy to exchange sample and rinse liquid
  No good: Expensive for slow and low ripple model

Floqw rate: 1mL/min, typically
- High electrical conductivity sample
  1.0-1.5mL/min are recommended.
- Not enough sample
  0.2-1.0mL/min are recommended.

What means spectrometer selection?

Spectrometer indicates emission intensity for each wavelength.
Wavelength range and wavelength resolution are very important and trade-off.

Would you recommend me good spectrometer?

Followings are recommendation models.
  s2086 (Range: 200nm-860nm)
  s2043 (Range: 200nm-430nm)
  s2035 (Range: 200nm-350nm)
Measurement range are listed for each spectrometer model.
Spectra sample of MH-5000 s2086 and MH-5000 s2035 are listed.
MH-6000A has one or two spectrometers. It can observe wide range with s2086 and distinguish proximity emission lines with s2035 or s2043.
